April 30, 2024

Walmart recently announced the achievement of their goal to slash greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion metric tons across their product supply chain, a whopping six years ahead of schedule!

This achievement stems from their ambitious Project Gigaton initiative launched in 2017, rallying over 5,900 suppliers to join forces in climate action. CEO Doug McMillon celebrated this milestone, highlighting practical strategies like energy efficiency and packaging redesign. Under Project Gigaton, suppliers tackled emissions across six key areas, fostering progress at all readiness levels.
