The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is working with Viresco Solutions Inc. to create a protocol for preserving peatlands. Peatlands are critical for combating the climate change crisis because they serve as massive carbon sinks; however, they are often converted for agriculture, urban development, or other land uses. Viresco Solutions Inc. is working with NCC to help them achieve their objective of releasing this new protocol by 2025. We have successfully completed Step 1 – Idea Note Development. We are currently in Step 2 – Concept Note Development, or Verra’s 6 step Methodology Development and Review Process.
