Microsoft is making bold moves to achieve its climate targets by securing 1.4 million tonnes of carbon removal credits from Living Carbon, a nature-based solutions provider dedicated to restoring degraded landscapes through reforestation.
The carbon credits will result from Living Carbon’s reforestation of 25,000 acres in the Appalachian region, an area significantly damaged by decades of coal mining. Through these efforts, Living Carbon is revitalizing ecosystems, enhancing soil health, and generating employment opportunities in rural communities that need it most.
