Microsoft Bets on Forests for Climate Action

July 7, 2025

Microsoft has committed to removing 4.8 million tons of CO₂ through a decade-long deal with Anew Climate and Aurora Sustainable Lands. These high-integrity credits come from U.S. forest projects using Improved Forest Management (IFM) practices.

This move supports Microsoft’s goal to be carbon negative by 2030. Nature-based solutions like this are key to global climate targets, offering real carbon removal and ecosystem co-benefits.

A bold step for corporate climate leadership!
