Verra Introduces New PADA Fee for REDD Projects

August 21, 2024

Verra has implemented a new Project Activity Data Allocation (PADA) fee for REDD projects using the VM0048 methodology. This fee covers costs associated with regional data collection, third-party review, and risk mapping for high-integrity jurisdictional baselines. The fee aims to enhance data quality, align with national approaches, and reduce conflicts of interest in baseline setting.

Fee Structure:

Flat Fee: $10,000 + $0.25/ha (capped at $150,000/project)
Area Change Fee: $500 + $0.25/ha for changes

It is Verra’s aim that this new system promises better transparency and accuracy in carbon accounting. For more information, click here!
